ACHRS, a regional think tank for human rights, was established in 2000. It focuses on seven key human rights priorities across the Arab region. ACHRS has held consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) since 2006 and was awarded the UN Human Rights Prize in 2023 in recognition of its contributions to human rights advocacy.
