18th training day of Youth Leadership program: Cybercrimes in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

As part of the Youth Leadership Program at the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies, an awareness-raising lecture titled “Cybercrimes in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” was delivered on the 18th training day (Saturday, September 26, 2026) to participants of the program’s ninth cohort. The lecture was presented by Dr. Samar Maknayi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Digital Media at Applied Science Private University.

The lecture addressed key forms of cybercrime that have emerged in the era of artificial intelligence, as well as the ways modern technologies are utilized for cyber-extortion, impersonation, deepfakes, digital fraud, and content manipulation.

It also discussed the importance of digital literacy, information verification, data protection, and privacy, alongside the promotion of responsible and safe use of artificial intelligence tools.

This lecture is part of the Center’s efforts to empower youth and raise their awareness regarding digital issues and human rights within the online environment.
