Digital Youth Rights

The Youth Rights Forum at the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) held a lecture titled, Digital Youth Rights, which was presented by Mr. Mohammad Abu Azzoum, Coordinator of ACHRS’ Digital Youth Rights Unit. The lecture, held on February 8, 2026, was attended by a number of young men and women and addressed how to navigate the digital world with greater awareness, safety, and responsibility. It discussed digital literacy, cybersecurity, and digital rights in a simple and practical manner, based on the premise that understanding the digital space is the first step towards protecting ourselves and others online.

As part of the ACHRS’ seventh priority, which focuses on youth rights, the Center initiated the Youth Rights Forum in mid-2025, with the participation of 21 young men and women. Last month, a founding committee of seven members was elected.

ACHRS prepared a report on the content of digital literacy, authored by Mr. Abu Azzoum in September 2025. Thereafter, ACHRS established a Digital Youth Rights Unit aimed at raising awareness among young people about their digital rights, the challenges and opportunities they face in the age of artificial intelligence, and the risks social media poses to youth rights and digital security.
