Statement for Mahmoud Hussein release

Amman Center for Human Rights Studies calls on Egypt to free the journalist Mahmoud Hussein, who completed today 1000 days of prison.

We strongly condemn the arbitrary detention of Mahmoud Hussein, the Egyptian government’s violation of its own judicial system and its violation of the rule of law.  

With such a violation of press freedom, Egypt moves away from the democratic society she claims to be. Amman Center for Human Rights Studies calls to raise awareness on Mahmoud Hussein’s plight.
