CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHELLE BACHELET THE NEW UN HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

The Amman Center for Human Rights Studies would like to congratulate the newly assigned appointee, Michelle Bachelet, as the new High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations.   

The center is aware of the difficult human rights issues that Michelle Bachelet will begin to tackle as she assumes her new position. Bachelet faces major challenges ahead with the international context undergoing many obstacles and difficulties within it. However, we believe she has the best potential to implement meaningful change for human rights.

Through personal experiences with human rights violations coupled with her commitment towards the defence of human rights, Michelle Bachelet is the most qualified for this important role within the UN and throughout the world.

ACHRS is looking forward to supporting Bachelet’s work in the upcoming years. We encourage her to keep on being fierce and determined to help those in need. We strongly believe she will use her role as a positive influence to promote and protect human rights.
