Training course in Ma’an on the skills of Jordanian women in public work’s partcipation

Within the framework of the Jordanian Institute program for women leaders Amman Center for Human Rights Studies, in cooperation with the Ma’an Association of Women
and with the support of the Finn Church Aid organized a training course on the skills of “women’s participation in public life”, the course covered leadership skills and 20 women will be part of the training.
A number of graduates Trainer from the Jordanian Institute for Women Leaders were train in this training course, where Eng. Maha Awdat spoke on the participation of Jordanian women in political life and the political history of Jordanian women. The participants also discussed about participation of the parliamentary and municipal elections as far as they spoke on the decline of the women presences in the political environment.
The second session was focused in the Eng. Fawzia Al-Jaradin speech on time management, work plans, and self-confidence as a basics and skills must be in the leaders.
After that, the third session was aimed to improve knowledge on the topic of empowerment and on the power to increase influence passing from an individual level to a community both in the social-political and in the economic sector. This aim was gained thanks to the reasearcher Susan Afifi.
At the end of the works the participants spoke about what they know about the Constitution with special attention to the ladies. Many participants was very satisfied of the works of the Training Course and asked for more similar activities in Ma’an. Meanwhile other participants confirmed the the TC made possibile some lessons about concepts they never hear and that they could be used in the future.
The Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) carried out since 2010 the Jordanian Institute program of women leaders, which leaded 33 participants from various governorates in graduating and made possibile for 12 women the participation in a new programme on the same topic that will be developed next month with a duration of 1 year.
