The Arab Coalition Against the Death Penalty Press release

On the Parallel of the fifth World Congress Against the Death Penalty the Arab Coalition Against the Death Penalty (ACADP) held on the 14th March, 2013 the first meeting of the General Assembly of the coalition, which includes in its membership coalitions and organizations against the death penalty from Mauritania, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.
The General Assembly approved the statute of the coalition, also elected an executive body of 14 members.
The Arab Coalition appreciates the role of the international coalition against the death penalty in the holding of the Fifth International Conference, as well as his role in the unification of efforts at the international level for a world free of the death penalty.
The Arab Coalition emphasizes the need to coordinate and unify the efforts of all actors, coalitions, organizations, parliamentarians, academics, media, religious scholars and others, to against the death penalty in the Arab countries up to the legislation and the laws of the death penalty-free.
