Achrs participated in the training session in (human rights, the rights of knowledge) organized by the UNISCO office in Amman with cooperation with the national center for human rights in landmark hotel in Amman – Jordan. The session was opened by a speech of Dr. Adnan Badran and by the general director of the UNISCO office in Amman, Anna Pawlini, Both speakers emphised on the importance of knowledge and education as a key of building strong and free society.
Dr. Adnan Badran lectured the audience in the theme of (education/ international efforts). Where he explained that, the new measurement scale will be in the third millennium between those who know and those who don’t know and the international efforts accompanying this goal by distributing the education and cultural human rights. Furthermore, Dr. Badran called for very crucial investment in education and health care in particular to found an umbrella for democracy. Dr. Badran also talked about the MDG’s (Millennium Developing Goals) for the year 2015 and some of the negative impacts on them such as the world economical recession, after that Dr. Badran demonstrated some examples worldwide in academic achievement in basic and high education in all of Jordan, Tunisia, and Lebanon form the Arab world, beside Singapore and South Korea.
After short coffee break, the session was resumed by Issa Almarazeq by talking about the concepts of human rights. Where overall review of the definition, principles, and features of human rights discussed and explained to the audience, Almarazeq also cleared and presented the different between the many aspects terminology regarding the human rights issue like the meaning of declaration, covenant, treaty, and charter of human right.
Nahla Almomani finished the day with her lecture in the charter of human rights. Nahla presented at first the historical events leading to the international declaration, and the important of it after that in drawing strategic lines for populations and countries in designing their democratic policies. At the end the audience gave quick feedback and review for the day.
The third day of the meeting started with Abeer Alamori lecturing on the human right education in the Jordanian ministry of education, where she mentioned the important of modern education principles and technique in building the local society. Many positive goals been achieved in Jordanian education system and yet more to come. The speaker also addressed the audience with some steps taken by the ministry of education to empower the meaning soul of human rights among students such as, engaging the human rights principles and meaning in addition to the child protection to the curriculum, design human rights guide to be reference in applying the teaching of those rights, capacity building for different skills for teachers and education management personal, establish profound culture of dialog among students and the students parliaments.
The second lecture was on the title of rights of education/ reading through the national center for human rights by the general Director of UNIESCO Amman office, Dr. Mohi Alden Toq. After that Hadel Altali discussed with the audience the human rights guide published by UNISCO. The day was concluded be general evaluation and by two lectures on CEDAW by Mohammad Albataina, and agreements against tortures by Sadam Aboazam.
The third and last day of the workshop, started with lecturing on child human rights by Samar Altarawneh, the speaker mentioned and expanded on explaining the most important national and international agreements on child protection and rights. Then Asma khader, talked about the national law system of human rights. In addition, practical exercises and some studied cases were discussed and recommendations been drawn as general evaluation for the workshop during the last three days.
