Empowering Youth with the Knowledge to Navigate the Digital World Safely

As part of the 9h Youth Leadership cohort, a specialised session on digital privacy and digital sovereignty in the age of mass surveillance was held on Saturday, May 16th, and delivered by Mohamad Abuazzoum, the Coordinator of the Digital Youth Rights Unit at ACHRS. This session aimed to highlight the importance of protecting personal data, understanding surveillance capitalism, and strengthening critical digital awareness skills.
The session covered key topics, including digital privacy as a fundamental human right, data tracking and surveillance systems, social media and behavioural targeting, and practical tools for cybersecurity and digital protection.
At ACHRS, we believe that empowering youth leaders starts with strengthening digital rights awareness and responsible technological use.
