ACHRS Women’s Day Event

ACHRS organized an event to commemorate women’s day on the 9th of March at the Greater Amman Municipality events hall. The aim of the event  was to prepare an event that avoids a tokenistic celebration of women, but rather involves serious discussions of how women’s rights could be improved in Jordan. This included speeches made by women who have engaged with issues around gender equality and women empowerment in Jordan on the status of women’s rights in the country’s legal system and in Jordanian society. The event was attended by members of local trade union organizations and civil societies. Read about it here.
