Meeting: Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence Sub-Working Group – March 2026
On Tuesday, 31 March 2026, Tshepo Tlhacoane attended the latest meeting of the Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (CP/GBV) Sub-Working Group at the offices of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Amman, Jordan.
The Working Group, which is chaired by UNHCR, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Agency for Children (UNICEF) serves as a coordination platform to strengthen the prevention, response, and protection of children and survivors of gender-based violence in Jordan.
The agenda for this meeting included finalizing the CP/GBV 2026 work plan, a presentation by UNHCR colleagues on the findings of their Socio-Economic Survey on Refugees in Jordan, specifically parts related to gender-based violence and child labour/employment, and a presentation by the Justice Center for Legal Aid on protection orders.
We will continue to engage with colleagues at the Working Group as participating in this Working Group allows us to help make progress on the rights linked to our priorities, specifically women’s rights, youth rights, and social protection.
