The Executive Bureau of the Election Network in the Arab Region Holds its Meeting

The Executive Bureau of the Election Network in the Arab Region (ENAR) held its first meeting in Erbil on the sidelines of the Iraqi parliamentary elections on Monday, November 10, 2025. The meeting focused on discussing and approving the network’s 2026-action plan, which aims to develop institutional work, secure funding, and enhance the role of network members. The meeting was productive and inspiring, and all participants are determined to continue the important work or ENAR in 2026.
The meeting was hosted by ENAR member Shams Network for Election Monitoring and attended by the network’s president, Dr. Nizam Assaf, and chaired by the network’s executive director, Mr. Hogr Jeto. Executive Bureau members present included: Dr. Gulshan Salgham, Ahmed Alloush, Salem Qubaylat, Asim Shia, Majed Dawi, and Akram Hassou.
It is worth mentioning that the network was established in 2006 at the initiative of the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies(ACHRS) and includes (16) civil society organizations and networks that are fully or partially concerned with the subject of elections. Since its establishment until now, it has conducted (33) monitoring of presidential and parliamentary elections, voluntarily and without funding from anyone, in 12 Arab countries, where approximately (70) international observers from various Arab countries participated in monitoring them, in addition to several thousand local observers who were trained and involved in monitoring the elections by the member organizations of the network.
