This session was marked by Jordan’s 4th Cycle of its Universal Periodic Review.

Under the name of ACHRS, Yasmine had the opportunity to give a 2 minutes speech to the attention of the Jordanian ambassador to the UN.

She was keen to emphasize several points relating to the human rights situation in Jordan, including :
– Freedom of expression and the repression of demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine,
– Press rights and the unlawful detention of journalists,
– Academic freedom and the right to join a union as an academic,
– Participation and more particularly the participation of women in the public sphere.

Yasmine also attended Saudi Arabia’s UPR as well as several other countries’ review.
