Tunisia has seen mass protest as a result of increasing issues surrounding covid and the economy. Consequently, the President of Tunisia has frozen parliament, dismissed the prime minister, and ignored the constitution resulting in what the center and international community consider as a coup d’état. The center condemns the undemocratic actions by the President and calls for a political resolution that upholds Tunisia’s long-lasting democracy.
