ACHRS Statement on The honor Killing of Israa Ghareeb

The Amman Center for Human Rights Studies strongly condemns the killing of  a young Palestinian woman,

Israa Ghareeb from Betlehem who on Thursday 29 of August was murdered by her own family after a video posting on social media an outing with her fiance. Her brother and father attacked her so brutally, it resulted in her death. The Center calls for better legislations on the so called honor killing of women in the region and better measurements on justice for women. Moreover, the international community at large agrees upon the fact that there is no honor in killing a human being. ACHRS calls on states to prevent and provide remedies for these crimes.
