On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10th, the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) will host a series of activities this year starting from October 10 and culminating on Human Rights Day, December 10. We will commence with our opening event on October 10 to mark World Day Against the Death Penalty and conclude with our final celebration event on December 10 to commemorate the day the universal declaration was adopted.
Our agenda consists of lectures, training seminars, and a film screening among other events that will cover various human rights topics. The schedule can be found below.
We are honored to have his excellency, Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz, as patronage to the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We are encouraged by his commitment to Parliamentary reforms that will support the Jordanian people and reduce corruption in the public sector. The event will include the graduation ceremony for the 13th Class of the Jordan Institute for Women’s Leadership Program. ACHRS will also award one student for best written article regarding human rights.
We are delighted to say there will be events held in seven out of the twelve governorates in Jordan. It is important to our organization that we raise awareness about human rights issues in all parts of the Jordan.
ACHRS invites you to join in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We encourage you to follow our organization on social media to stay informed on the events throughout the next two months. Registration will be available on the website, as well as social media.
