Yemeni organizations welcome the appointment of Mr. Antonio Guterres as Secretary General of the United Nations And demand him to replace Ismail Ould Al Sheikh

The undersigned civil society organizations in Yemen welcome appointing Antonio Guterres as Secretary General of the United Nations, succeeding his predecessor, Ban Ki-moon, whose positions were floundering
and weak that damaged the credibility of the United Nations, and infected Yemeni children with despair, when he presented a humiliating concession for Saudi Arabia and removed it from the blacklist as murderer of children and civilians based on a number of documented investigations.
The United Nations has deviated, in the era of Ban Ki-moon, from its role in finding a just solution to the Yemeni crisis, and it even added insult to injury through a long series of decisions and in frequent intervals.
We expect the new Secretary-General to be fair and a protector of global peace and security, for he belongs to the free world and at the same time is close to the human suffering, as he was a High Commissioner for Refugees. This makes him able to build a United Nations that works to find collective solutions to the intractable crises around the world, including the Yemeni crisis.
We demand, at the same time, changing the envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations to Yemen, Ismail Ould Al Sheikh, who proved his weakness and full bias to Saudi Arabia, and he even proved to be an accomplice in all the atrocities committed by the Saudi regime and its tools of mercenaries, beneficiaries, and terrorist elements. These crimes will not be time-barred, and those responsible for them with be pursued at the local, regional, and international courts and will be tried as “war criminals” and perpetrators of crimes against humanity.
