Executive Committee of the Arab Coalition against the Death Penalty, held its fourth meeting
The fourth meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Coalition Against the Death Penalty was held in Amman headed by Dr. Mohammed Al-Tarawneh where the activities between the two meetings were reviewed, and the meeting concluded to take the following decisions: continue communication between the coordinators of the national alliances through social media (Facebook), and add educational institutions to universities as potential parties for the implementation of activities of the Coalition, and agree on the award to be granted to individuals or institutions for distinguished efforts against the death penalty, the need to complete the internal order of the Coalition and take notes about it within a month to present it in the next meeting for approval, and the preparations to celebrate the international day against the death penalty, which is on October 10th, 2013, so that each country organizes two events at the national level, in addition to one activity on the regional level to be organized by the Arab Coalition, where the afore mentioned prize is presented, in addition to holding a meeting during Madrid Conference next June in order to unify efforts against the death penalty in the Arab world and work to provide funding for this activity.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Nicholas emphasized the Association’s willingness to cooperate with the Arab Coalition and national coalitions against the death penalty.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Al-Tarawneh, President of the Coalition, lawyer Moussa Abu Duheim, coordinator of Palestinian Coalition, lawyer Ali al-Dailami, coordinator of the Coalition of Yemen, lawyer Samih Sunqrut, representative of the Coalition of Jordan, lawyer shuan Saber, coordinator of the Kurdish Coalition, and Dr. Nidham Assaf, executive director of the Arab Coalition, in addition to the guest of the meeting Mr. Nicholas Bray, from the Association Together Against the Death Penalty (France).
