The Jordanian Network for Human and Peoples’ Rights, chaired by Engineer Azzam Al-Smadi, held its first meeting yesterday, Saturday, September 6, during which it discussed, among other matters, the preparation and submission of a shadow report on the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.
It was decided that ten organizations out of (11) member organizations of the Network would participate in submitting this report. These organizations are: the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Jordan, the Jordanian Society for Human Rights, the Businesswomen’s Association, the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies, the Jordanian Women’s Solidarity Institute, the Women’s Network for Supporting Women, the Ana Insan Association for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Amman Forum for Human Rights Association, the Economic and Social Forum for Women, and the Women’s Visions Association.
It is worth noting that the Jordanian Network for Human and Peoples’ Rights was established in 2018 at the initiative of the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies.
