The eleventh training day for participants in the ninth cohort of the Youth Leadership Program, implemented by the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS), was held on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The session focused on “Emotional Intelligence,” exploring the different types of intelligence and abilities individuals possess including the capacity for learning, understanding, adaptation, problem-solving, and effective communication and how these abilities vary from person to person.<\/p>\n

The session emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence, noting that it is considered one of the most in-demand skills globally, according to reports from LinkedIn and the World Economic Forum. Emotional intelligence centers on an individual’s ability to understand and manage their own emotions as well as the emotions of others including awareness of one’s own strengths, weaknesses, and reactions, and how these affect oneself and others. The session also covered how emotional intelligence shapes communication, relationship-building, and the ability to influence and lead.<\/p>\n

The course focused on the five core elements of emotional intelligence self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills and how to cultivate and develop them to achieve personal and professional success. This included listening to and respecting others’ viewpoints, the ability to influence and persuade, and awareness of body language, among other skills.<\/p>\n

The training was generously delivered on a voluntary basis by trainer Eng. Qamar Al-Nabulsi, a member of ACHRS’s Scientific Council.<\/p>\n
