Our reports seek to amplify voices of the voiceless,<br \/>\ndemand for action and document the struggle of our time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This month\u2019s Human Rights Monitor focuses on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mysterious death of psychiatrist Ban Ziad Tariq and the subsequent failure<br \/>\nof authorities to conduct a proper investigation exemplifies the negligence to<br \/>\nuphold the right to life and justice in Iraq<\/li>\n<li>Airstrikes and military explosions leading to civilian and military casualties<br \/>\nhighlights failures to adhere to principles of proportionality and protection in<br \/>\nLebanon<\/li>\n<li>In Saudi Arabia anti-terrorism and cybercrime laws are used to punish<br \/>\nprotestors and critics of the monarchy, criminalizing the right to political<br \/>\nparticipation<\/li>\n<li>In Gaza a man-made famine, destroyed water infrastructure, and targeted<br \/>\nattacks on healthcare facilities have led to a total collapse of social protection.<\/li>\n<li>In the West Bank, discriminatory water allocation, home demolitions, and settler<br \/>\nviolence systematically erode Palestinians&#8217; standard of living<br \/>\nA comparison of women&#8217;s empowerment and vulnerability across three areas in<br \/>\nJordan, Gaza and the United Arab Emirates<br \/>\nThis report is not just a record of human rights violations but an effort to shine<br \/>\na light on ways of driving justice, highlighting problems and violations that must<br \/>\nbe addressed. Hence, it is calling for accountability, an appeal to those who<br \/>\nhold the reins of power, a reminder that the world is watching, and a voice for<br \/>\nthe region.
