Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) is an independent non-governmental organization advocating for enhancing democracy and human rights in Jordan and the MENA region. The center\u2019s five priorities are the right to life, the right to speak, think, participate, and women\u2019s rights. The Center works to achieve its goals by lobbying; spreading awareness via conferences and symposiums; writing official statements, declarations, reports, articles, and booklets; and establishing and maintaining relations with international organizations and embassies.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, ACHRS has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) which means that the center participates in
\nvarious UN conferences and makes annual reports for the UN, for example through the Universal Periodic Review<\/p>\n
