In this lecture, he argues that the Egyptian Army has never had such a degree of power over Egyptian society and its institutions. This is for three fundamental reasons. First, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi\u2019s administration has eliminated all potential political adversaries. Second, the military has expanded its role in the economy.
