Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) is an independent non-governmental organization advocating for the enhancement of democracy and human rights in Jordan and the MENA region. The center’s five priorities are the right to life, the right to speak, <\/span><\/p>\n

the right to think, the right to participate, and women’s rights. The Center works to achieve its goals by lobbying; spreading awareness via conferences and symposiums; <\/span>
writing official statements, declarations, reports, articles, and booklets; and establishing and maintaining relations to international organizations and embassies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, ACHRS has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) which means that the center participates in <\/span>
various UN conferences and makes annual reports for the UN, for example through the Universal Periodic Review<\/span><\/p>\n
