The discussion featured Deema Hajjawi, chef, television cooking show host and published cookbook author, and Iman Mutlaq, CEO of Sigma Investments and director of INGOT brokers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;\">These two powerful Jordanian businesswomen shared their personal stories of success. They spoke about their early aspirations, overcoming challenges in their careers, balancing work with family life and community involvement and how they have sought to promote women&rsquo;s economic empowerment in running their own businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;\">The audience, featuring many figures that have been instrumental in the advancement of women&rsquo;s economic rights in Jordan, discussed recent achievements, such as the &lsquo;flexible working hours by-law for 2017&rsquo;, which aims to enhance the participation of working women by providing for flexible employment contracts, such as <\/span>part time<span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;\"> work, work <\/span>within <span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;\">flexible hours and remote work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;\">They also noted that certain challenges persist. For example, the promotion of women&rsquo;s economic rights in rural Jordan and the elimination of stigma surrounding women&rsquo;s participation and capability in certain sectors.
