The attendees <span class=\"hps\">represented<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the core<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of civil society organizations<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">interested<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in the world<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">along with national institutions<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">on human rights<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;\"><span class=\"hps\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';\">The<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';\"> <span class=\"hps\">ACHRS representative Mr.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Salim<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Aqbilat<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">delivered a working paper,<\/span> \u201cBets <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Challenges Faced by<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the Laws of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the Right\u201d at a seminar<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">on<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the right<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of access to information held in Marrakech on<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">11\/29\/2014<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;\"><span class=\"hps\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';\">The forum had many other participants. D. Frank Larue the Special Rapporteur of <i>Freedom of Expression<\/i> took part in this event by reviewing the positive right of access to information. The Canadian international expert Toby Mendel explained the quality requirements in the global model legislation regarding the right of access to information. The journalist, Mohamed Anona, head of the <i>Freedom of Information and Expression Organization<\/i> in Morocco ran the sessions, and the international expert Said Filali, and activist Fadel Ali from Palestine and journalist Farhan Saeed from Yemen all reviewed the national experiences of their countries.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;\"><span class=\"hps\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';\">The seminar led to the<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';\"> agreed <span class=\"hps\">formation of an Arab<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">network<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">aimed at protecting<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">media freedoms<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and the right of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">access to information.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Mr.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Aoun<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">from Morocco<\/span> has been assigned <span class=\"hps\">to work<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">on the completion of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">its founding<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in consultation with the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">organizations<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">that have declared<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">their willingness<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to join the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">network<\/span>.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';\"><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) participated in the &#8220;the second session&#8221; of the World Human Rights Forum, in Marrakesh, which was attended by more than five thousand male and female participants.
