Meeting of the International Relations Unit at the ACHRS

22861368 778565798998480 9190878274263029165 o 1Several important questions were discussed when the International Relations Unit of the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies met for their weekly meetings with director Dr. Nizam Assaf.

Joining for the first time was our new intern, Danny Casprini from Italy. Danny holds a degree in law from Italy, as well as a Master’s degree in International Law and Languages from the Netherlands, and already in his first week, he has contributed with good insights and knowledge to our work. Also present at the meeting was Sara Pripito, from Rumania, who will be assisting us part-time, while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Arabic. With the addition of Danny and Sara, the International Relations Unit now consists of members from Italy, Rumania, Greece, Germany, and Denmark.

At the meeting, the recent work of the International Relations Unit where discussed, including the cooperation with an Egyptian women’s rights organization for an upcoming project, further work on the abolition of death penalty and the units work in dealing with human rights and academic freedom. The meeting also discussed recent meetings of staff members in Amman, Berlin, Vienna, and Cairo.
